Juli Plc released its financial results for the first quarter (Q1, 2021) ended 31st of March, 2021.

  • Turnover for the period was N101.6 million. (+11.1% YoY)
  • Cost of sales was N72.64 million. (+7.9% YoY)
  • Administrative expenses totalled N29.75 million. (-24.4% YoY)
  • Total assets at the period stood at N229.2 million.
  • A loss of N0.78 million was incurred during the period.

NAHCO Aviance Director Purchases additional 2.93m shares worth N7.94 million.

Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance)has notified the Nigerian Exchange Group Limited that Mr. Akinwumi Godson Fanimokun, a Non-Executive Director in the firm, has acquired 2,926,410 additional units of its shares, worth ₦7.94 million.

This was revealed by the company’s secretary, Bello Abdullahi, in two separate disclosures made available on the website of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

Details: In the first notice, Mr. Fanimokun spent a total of N3, 539,096.80 to acquire additional 1,416,410 units of the firm’s shares. The deal took place on the floor of the NGX in Lagos, between 9th and 10th of August, 2021.

Similarly, the details contained in the second notice uploaded on the website of the NGX revealed that the aforementioned director purchased additional 1,510,000 units of the firm’s shares for a sum of N4, 402,500.91. The deal was executed on the 13th, 14th and 16th of September, 2021.

Cumulatively, a total sum of N7, 941,597.71 was spent by the director to purchase an additional 2,926,410 units of the firm’s shares.

It is imperative to note that the disclosure is in line with the statutory requirements specified by the Exchange and needed to entrench transparency and confidence in the system. Trade by insiders, particularly purchases, often demonstrates confidence in the financial performance of the companies that they run.

NAICOM confirms appointment of Ebunolu Ayeni as M.D/CEO of International Energy Insurance Plc.

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), has approved the appointment of Mr Ebunolu Oludele Ayeni as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of International Energy Insurance Plc, with effect from July 23, 2021.

This is according to a statement signed by the Head of Legal and Compliance Services in the Company, Reginald Reuben, made available on the website of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

Excerpts from the recent notice read thus: ‘’International Energy Insurance Plc (Company) wishes to notify Nigerian Exchange Limited, the Company’s shareholders and the investing public that the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has approved the appointment of Mr Ebunolu Oludele Ayeni as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of International Energy Insurance Plc with effect from July 23, 2021.’’

About Mr Ebunolu Ayeni

Ebunolu Oludele Ayeni is an accomplished chartered insurer, risk analyst, administrator and management consultant with over three decades of experience. Prior to joining International Energy Insurance Plc, Ayeni gained valuable experiences from a host of insurance companies, including but not limited to; NEM Insurance Plc, Lion of Africa Insurance Plc and Oasis Insurance Plc, among others. He also worked in the academia, serving as the Director of Examinations & Records at the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) between 2013 to 2018, and the University of Nigeria (UNN), Lagos outreach where he lectured on a part-time basis, among others.

Ayeni holds a B.sc in Insurance from the University of Lagos, MBA in Marketing from Ladoke Akintola University and an M.sc in Strategic Management from Enugu State University. He is also a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), Institute of Loan and Risk Management Nigeria and an Associate member of the Nigerian Council of Registered Brokers.

Resort Savings & Loans Plc set to hold Board Meeting on October 5

Resort Savings & Loans Plc has announced that it will be hosting a Board of Directors Meeting on the 5th day of October, 2021, at 11:00am prompt.

According to a notice signed by the Company’s Secretary, Mrs Benedicta Sadare, the Board meeting was scheduled to enable the bank consider and deliberate on strategic, governance and capitalization issues facing the institution.

Consequently, the Company will commence a closed period from Friday, the 17th day of September, 2021 until 24 hours after the outcome of the Board Meeting is announced to the investing public. During the closed period, no director, person discharging managerial responsibility and adviser of the Issuer and their connected persons shall deal in the securities of the Company.

Royal Exchange Plc: Notice of Emergency Board Meeting.

Royal Exchange Plc has announced that it will be hosting an emergency board of Directors meeting on the 21st and 23rd of September, 2021.

This is according to a disclosure signed by the company’s secretary, Ngozika Onu, and sent to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).

According to the notice, the meeting will enable the Board Directors to consider and approve the company’s financial statement for the year ended 31st of December, 2020. Decisions reached at the meeting will be subsequently communicated.

In addition, the firm also announced a closed period from 30th of June, 2021 until 24 hours after the company’s financial statement and outcome of the board meeting have been made public in line with the Rulebook of the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

In the closed period, insiders of the firm such as its directors, managers, employees, advisers, etc., and people related to them are strictly prohibited from directly or indirectly dealing in the shares of the company

NAHCO Aviance Plc appoints Enyinna Okpara into its Board.

Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO Aviance) has confirmed the appointment of Professor Enyinna Ugwuchi Okpara into its Board as a Non-Executive Director.

According to a press statement sent to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), Professor Okpara’s appointment was ratified by the members and shareholders of the company during its recently concluded 40th Annual General Meeting, held on 30th of July, 2021.

Corroborating this, an excerpts of the press release issued by the firm read thus: ‘’This is to inform our esteem shareholders, the general public and Nigerian Exchange Limited (the Exchange) that at the 40th Annual General Meeting of Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (the Company) held on 30th July, 2021, the Company (Members/SharehoIders) ratified the appointment of Professor Enyinna Ugwuchi Okpara as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from that date.’’

About Prof. Enyinna Okpara

Enyinna Okpara is a Professor of Accounting and Finance and an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He was born on 27th March 1960. He has the following academic qualifications: PhD (Accounting), M.Sc. (Accounting), MBA (Finance), B.Sc. (Accounting), PGD (Financial Management), HND (Accounting) and NCE (Business Education).

Professor Okpara is currently the Dean of College of Social and Management Sciences, Wellspring University, Benin City. He had previously worked as Accounts/Logistics Manager in Dangote Group. He is an experienced auditor and tax consultant having worked with Akintola Williams Deloitte. Professor Okpara served in the Nigerian Army as a commissioned officer rising to the rank of Captain before he voluntarily disengaged from active military service in 1999.

NAHCO Aviance is a diversified company with interests in aviation cargo, aircraft handling, passenger facilitation, crew transportation and aviation training. The firm recorded an impressive bottom line in the recently concluded half year period (HY, 2021), as its profit after tax surge by 453% to N504.9 million. Nigerian Enamelware Plc announces new board changes.

Nigerian Enamelware Plc has announced that five (5) of its Directors have retired from the Board of the Company, effective from 30th of June, 2021.

According to a statement issued by the company and made available on the website of the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), the five Directors who retired are; Alhaji Chief M.A Ola Yusuf (Chairman/Independent Non-Executive Director), Philip Shui Che Tung (Executive Director), Aare Hadji Tokunbo Alli (Executive Director), Paul Shui Po Tung (Non-Executive Director), Lewis Shui Ngok Tung (Non-Executive Director).

On the other hand, the company also announced the appointment of seven (7) other individuals into its Board as Directors, effective on 1st of July, 2021.The newly appointed Directors are;

  • Bamofin Olatokunbo Sanni (CHAIRMAN/INDEPENDENT NON- EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR): Bamofin Olatokunbo Sanni is o solicitor and legal practitioner with over 30 years’ experience in the legal profession. He has on extensive board experience. Prior to his appointment to the Board, he was the company secretary to Nigerian Enamelware Plc. and sundry other companies under the WEMPCO Group which he has only proven himself very resourceful. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this important role, and has an exceptional track record of delivering strategic information.
  • Taiwo Alli (EXECUTTVE DTRECTOR): Mr. Taiwo Alli started his career in WEMPCO Group of Companies in 2006 as an Administrative Manager in Standard Industrial Developments and subsequently transferred to Wempco Steel Mills Company Limited as Project Manager. He was the Public Relations and a seasoned operations Manager at Logos Oriental Hotel from April 2009 until December 2019 when he became an Executive Director of the parent company, Western Metal Products Company Limited.
  • Stanley Sham (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR): Mr. Sham hos occupied several management positions with vast experience in finance, accounting, and internal audit. His career as on administrator spans across several Countries over 40 years namely Hong Kong, China and Philippines. He brings a wealth of experience to his new role of providing strategic leadership in the management of the Company.

He holds a degree in Business Administration from Hong Kong.

  • Yujun Tang (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR): Mr. Yunjun Tong worked at Shanghai Donglian Electric Company Limited as the electric maintenance supervisor from July 1990 to May 2000′ He is presently employed by WEMPCO Group of companies since July, 2000 where he has proven resourceful with his vast experience of over thirty years. Mr. Tong attended Jiangsu and Wutan Middle School Central High in China. He hos also attended several electrical and management courses where he obtained high-ranking certificates.
  • Robert Tung (NON-EXECUIIVE DIRECTOR): Mr. Robert Tung is a senior executive in WEMPCO Group of companies. He has worked with the Group for over 41 years, handling the financial aspect of the business activities. He is currently o non-executive in Africa Finance Corporation.
  • Prince Sunday. O. Ogunnowo (Independent Non-Executive Director): Prince Sunday acts as a director in Leverage Homes Savings & Loans Ltd. He also serves in the capacity of a member of Audit Committee for a number of Companies including Consolidated Breweries Plc as well as Nigerian Enamelware.
  • Lawrence Iseh (Executive Director): Mr. Lawrence Iseh is a chartered accountant and seasoned professional with diverse experience in the private and public sector. He had previously worked in firms like Kew-Metal Works Limited, Standard Industrial Development Company Limited before joining WEMPCO Group of Companies in 2016. He holds HND (Upper Credit) in Accountancy from Yaba College of Technology.

In addition, the company also announced that it has appointed Ms Oyetola Oluwafemi as the Company Secretary effective 1st of September, 2021, following the resignation of the defunct secretary-Bamofin Olatokunbo Sanni, who was appointed into the Board as a Director.
